Five decades of poetry writing has resulted in over 500 poems published in the US and abroad. I have four chapbooks: Palimpsests, (Uttered Chaos) Glimpses of a Garden, Poetry and Chickens, and Joy Holding Stillness (self published) and two full-length books: Elegy for the 21st Century (FutureCycle Press) and An Inner Quicksand (self published). All but Stillness (an ode to Lake Quinault, WA, and out of print) are available here. I was recently interviewed (an interesting experience) for a podcast by Revue {R}evolution and that is available on streaming services and their website.
My fiction includes short stories published in the "After Oil" series, in issues of Into the Ruins, and New Maps and Mythic. My science fiction novel,Lifeline and short stories, The Dream Hunt and Other Tales (Founders House Publishing) are de-industrial science fiction, looking at a world without fossil fuels, with few resources but perhaps more wisdom. They are available on this site. PLEASE NOTE: I can only ship to US addresses.
I've made things since someone bought me crayons, but never considered myself an artist until I was taking classes for my Masters in Art Therapy. I fell in love with linoblock printing, oils, artists books, and sculpture, adding to the dozens of crafts that I'd already explored (quilts, miniatures, decoupage, and more). Currently, I'm taking ceramics again, and working on a few more shrine images. I hope to be able to offer some of my art here in the store.
As a writer & artist, I have a deep interest in the future of our world. My science fiction explores a more sustainable future than the one we have now.
I grew up on the East coast, but have lived more than half my years on the West coast.I live in a rural town, which is an enormous change from living in New York City in my late teens! I find myself more and more drawn to Nature as teacher and solace. I hope to blog about what I've learned from trying to live sustainably, and to slow down to Nature's pace.
